The Environment

Once upon a time in a desert far far away live a boy aged 9 years. The boy had a loving family and a father who worked as a journalist across the world.

One day, the father took the boy along one of his business trips. They visited a land that was fertile a woman’s womb. The land bare all sorts of fruits and vegetable with ease.

During the trip, site seeing was organised through the land’s country side where all the farming happens. During the trip, the boy fell in love with apples. So the boy made a promise to himself, “one day I’ll grow an apple orchard in my village”.

Powerful, the boy had successfully created a vision and developed purpose for his life, great, standing ovation for him.

So over the years he stared reading farming magazines to keep his dream alive, and it worked, he dreamt of owning an apple orchard until he was a matured young man.
His father seeing the passion in his eyes decided to loan him some money to buy a piece of to start the apple orchard.

The business failed and the boy lost all his father’s money.
What went wrong???

The boy had a dream and a vision, he was passionate and went all in at his passion. What the hell went wrong???

The boy was in the wrong environment… He wanted to plant apple orchards in the middle of a desert…

Why I am telling you this lame story?? Because it’s a true reflection of what was recently going on in my life. I wanted to be purposeful and have a positive impact in people’s lives. One problem, I was spending my free time, “weekends”, with alcoholics. And, in the process I managed to turn myself into an alcoholic.

So my friends, please be very careful at the environments you spend your time in. Ask yourself one question, is this environment conducive to my dream or the vision I have in my life. If the answer is YES, write down 5 reasons WHY. If the answer is NO, start the process to transfer to new environments. And please, be patient, the process is not instant in anyway. One must remember that it takes a long time to be an overnight success.

Now that I think about it, I guess the Bible is right when it says:
1 Corinthians 15:33
Do not be misled: Bad company corrupts good character.

Create the environment that is conducive to your dreams and visions, choose the people you sepnd time with very carefully…

P.S
We need the Land, we wanna grow Apple orchards…
