Winner - Characteristics
You know me and Movies, I love em…
The name of the movie is… No, let me start it differently.
There was once a man named Jonathan Wick, and this man was highly respected by his
colleagues in his line of duty [murderer] and he was feared by his
enemies.
I picked up something very interesting, both in the original
movie and the sequel. When Mr Wick was described, these are three Words that
summaries him:
- Focus
- Commitment
- Will
Let’s get into them and see how these 3 magic words do wonders
when they are transformed into actions and implemented in one’s journey to
success.
Focus
When softly re-written, focus is the ability to be strong against
distractions that may arise and attempt to; whether delay or derail you from
your dreams and goals.
Let’s get silly for a minutes. Imagine it’s morning and you’re
taking a shit, then half way through that process you remember that you have to
toast your bread for breakfast. So you just stand up and walk to the kitchen,
get the bread out of the fridge and switch on the toaster. Half way through
that, just before you put the bread into the toaster, it hits you that you haven’t
brushed your teeth. So you walk to the sink and start brushing your teeth.
After two strokes with the toothbrush, you remember that you still have to iron
your outfit for the day. So you drop the toothbrush and walk to the bedroom and
start ironing.
Now here is what’s happening, YOU, are holding an iron in
your hand, with Florine in your mouth and an ass-crack full of shit, and on top
of that, your breakfast is nowhere close to being ready…
Lol, Yes, the example is farfetched and a bit extreme, but
it paints the picture. I chose the above analogy because it’s easier to relate
to, it’s daily activities we all share.
What just happened is that you have been “busy” for almost
30 minutes in the morning and you haven’t really achieved anything. Hence there
is a saying that:
“Just because you’re busy doesn’t mean you’re productive”
African Child, FOCUS… Do one thing at a time and finish that.
Commitment
I asked Google “what is
commitment?” and this is what it gave me:
“The state or quality of being dedicated to a cause, activity”
Therefore once you have selected an activity to focus on,
you have to be dedicated to it. Meaning
for the next … [depending how long the
activity takes]… that activity will be your life, you will think about nothing
else.
You’ll be eating breakfast, and you must be thinking about your goal. You’ll be
taking a shit and you must be thinking
about your goal. Just before you go to sleep you must be thinking about your goal. During the
night, you must be dreaming of your goal. First when you wake up you must be thinking about your goal. Until its
achievement, that goal is your life…
You are the one who asked for it, the one who wants it, therefore
the least you can do is commit to it.
Will
Where are we? Oh jah, you have selected an activity/goal,
you have committed that you’ll dive into it and give it your best. Here is the red
cherry on top, will, which is defined as follows:
“Expressing inevitable events”
Will is an emotion and state of mind more than anything, it
is what gives focus and commitment their Super-Saiyan powers.
Mr Rohn once described it as:
“…I’ll do it, or die…”
So that’s how Mr Wick has achieved a 100% kill rate, let’s all
activate the John Wick in us.
Good Luck with Life…
If you want to watch the Movie, it’s called John Wick, it’s worth it. I am
patiently waiting for the 3rd sequel as I write.
P.S
Please do not go around killing people… Thanks
