Friendships

Are you living or dying together… Relationships are easy because when you are tired of them you can just end them, but NO, not friendships, I don’t know why they are so hard to end. Ok, when was the last time you called/texted a friend that “it’s over”??? Never… The best you can do is try to avoid them…

No matter how many times they keep dragging you down, for some strange reason friends are always there, you just can’t say it’s over…

Some friends you grow up with, some you sit next to in class, you bump into some in clubs and at parties, and some are your colleagues. No one ever sits, evaluate and choose friends, life just hands them to you and you have to make it work.

Just imagine, these are the people you spend your valuable time with, so it is strongly suggested that you pick and choose them correctly, because who you are is the average of the 5 people you spend most of your time with.

If at any point in time you are evaluating yourself on who you are, don’t sit by yourself and think about it, you’ll cheat yourself, there formula is: the average of your 5 closest friends = YOU... So to know who you are, you have to evaluate your friends. Look at it this way, if you have friends that push “umswenko”, it is very unlikely that you will wear, ‘Pringle, Crocket & Jones, Brentwood, etc.’ so yes, YOU are the average of your friends.

So you might avoid friends that get you into trouble, you know those ones that always bring out the ‘worst behaviour’ in you. You preferably want people who will bring positivity into your life to be around you, especially if you have ‘big dreams’, you don’t need anyone keeping you down and clipping your wings.

The there are those ones you only exist when they need something... Amen... hayi ndincamile...

My friends are bad, in fact, I am going to call a few after I am done tying this and break up with them, and I’ll go like:

Me: “Yhooo my man”
Them: “Aweee Mzuraa”
Me: “It’s over between us”
Them: “entlek what are you saying broh”
Me: “it’s not you, it’s me”

And that’s it, it’s done, then from there I can find five new people that I will spend my time with. The beauty of it this time is that I will literally choose my friend, as mentioned before, we never choose our friends, situations always brings them to us.
