Dirt off ya shoulders

According to the Urban Dictionary, the above phrase means:
Shaking them haters off. In other words it means to brush off negative energy of statements made about you.
Now what is more powerful to me is the origin of the phrase:

To step up. The origin of this term comes from a story in which a donkey falls into a well and cannot get out. The farmer tries to get the donkey out by rope, unsuccessful in his attempt. He decides, instead, to just give up and bury the donkey in the well. As the farmer begins filling the hole with dirt, the donkey becomes depressed, realizing that all of the dirt on his shoulders and back were going to eventually bury him. He then thought of an idea: I can just shake it off and step up. Therefore, he could just die by doing nothing and getting buried, or shake the dirt off his shoulders and step up to the occasion.

This phrase has special place in my heart because of the way we as the youth are living, all of a sudden everyone has “haters”. Now don’t get me wrong, I am not saying they do not exist, I am aware of the greed and jealously in people. The problem is that we let it get to us, we let all those negative thoughts and sabotage attempts get to us. We allow haters to set ceilings for us and define our lives. We sell ourselves short.

We should not allow the people hating on our crafts to have the satisfactions of seeing us suffer, go cry in the rain if you have to so no one can tell you’re crying. If I light a candle in a dark room, step out for a few minutes, then when I walk back in someone has blown the candle out, it makes more sense to light the candle again than walk around a dark room screaming “who the f*** blew out my candle” looking for answers.

Time is valuable and each second you waste paying attention to haters, you have just delayed your success and the millions that are supposed to be in your account by 9 seconds. Never store dead weight in your heart, forgive and forget, move on so you can get closer to your dreams.
Here are some of the most basic ways to deal with haters:
  1. Avoid taking it personally. ...
  2. Ignore the jealous and hateful comments. ...
  3. Address haters in your daily life head on. ...
  4. Reduce your negative interactions with the person. ...
  5. Change your routine so you don't cross paths with the hater. ...
  6. Set boundaries.

  1. Love your pieces. No matter what you do or say, there will always be people who have a with just the fact that you are still breathing. You should have added Taylor's Swift song line from Shake it Off " Haters gonna hate, hate, hate... Just shake it off."

Not giving them the time and day in your life is the best remedy.

Had the donkey stood there and not shake + step up, the earth would accumulated around his feet... Don't be scare of doing something because your are afraid of the comments that will come if you fail... Shake and step up... Light your candle again...
