My name is...

There is something the youth doest realize, it doesn't realize that everything in anything is equally important. lets take the a car as an example: which is the most important body part of a car??? Engine? steering wheel? gearbox (& gear lever)? wheels? Most people answered "engine" since it creates the motion, but where is that motion going if the car doesn't have it 4 four wheels??? even that engine that is soo trusted can not create that motion without fuel (petrol/diesel).

Now how does this concept apply to us as the youth?? we are not cars or engines... The point is everything works together to achieve as certain goal. I might be 99% correct on this but I think everyone wants to be successful in life. Is it??? Good... continue reading, this is for you... if your want to be successful, you have to ensure that all aspects of your life work together in achieving this. Yes people do go to school and get good grades, brush their teeth everyday, wipe their behinds and comb their hair, but here is one elements that is unnoticed and can hinder you success.

Your name

“A name can be more than a word to a face, it can be a tool for success” What is a name? What does it mean to you? Simple, a name is a word given to a person/thing for the purpose of identity. That is the most obvious answer, but is it really that simple? We often have big dreams and ideas that we want to build for our future. Success stories, empires, legacies etc. and all of these things have multiple “engines” (referring to mechanisms that make sure that these things function properly). One of the most underrated and overlooked engine is the Name. This does not refer to the name of an organisation, this refers to the reputation of the person initiating the idea. Everything we do or say will always be linked to us via our names. Now in order for you to establish an entity/organisation that is REPUTABLE, you have to build a NAME for yourself. Your reputation will always decide whether or not your legacy survives. Now the issue is, do we, as the youth, have a legacy minded approach for our future “ideas”? The way in which we portray ourselves to the world now, will it give them the confidence to invest in us tomorrow? I am asking this in the basis of publicity, our day and age is technologically orientated, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. The things you do, say, show on these public platforms, and on a daily basis I general, are attached to your name and your name is attached to you. Are the things you are doing now sufficient to earn you the confidence and trust of your future clients, business allies, investors when you start to invest or grow your Empire?
A small example: Young adult who feels the need to maintain a certain standard of living to impress a certain class will more often get into debt or they will live for their expenses. Once you become a regular name in debt, most, if not all of the financial institutions will not want to “associate” themselves with you because you are a high risk and now when you want to get finance for a house bond (long term investment) you can’t, when you apply for a financial boost to start your business, you can’t because your name appears on everyone’s bad books and your credit record will always tell a negative story about you).
For future orientated, business minded and legacy driven young people it is imperative to enjoy your rewards and live your life BUT keep in mind that what you do now can either boost or drag you down later.
If Patrice Motsepe, Sisa Ngebulana, Sipho Nkosi would enter a shop and promise to buy a product, just by their names the service provider will offer that product and more at a discount even. Now that is not just a name, it is a tool for success.

I know there are those who capitalize on this concept, i have seen and heard people throw their father's names when trying to unlock opportunities. Big up to you guys, but you still doing it wrong, that is not "legacy mind" i am talking about. Let me quote a rap line to illustrate this:

"Your father was a great man, then you must be what's left"
- E.R.B
Now what this means is, yes you father was a great man and you can milk off his legacy, but can your son milk off his grandfather's legacy??? Because you didn't build anything on YOUR NAME...

From today on, i want the youth to know the importance of image and the POWER OF YOUR NAME!!!
